Connection is the Lunar principle that lies deep within the core being of Orca. It is a Soul connection, carried by a song through the watery deep. Orca seems to proclaim the magnetic gathering of Soul family, a Lunar longing felt in body and Soul. Body and Soul are the expression of the same feminine principle and through its very being Orca seems to teach this Lunar feminine essence. Within the microcosmic body it is reflected in the Lunar sphere held between the Sacral and the Heart center, a sphere of soulful interrelation and creativity.
The life of an orca is carried by the culture within its family group, a continuity held together by a matriarchal lineage. Orcas and the Cetacean family at large are said to be the only creatures besides humans to have culture. One lineage of orcas over time will develop their very own forms for hunting, socialization and communication. The wisdom is carried from generation to generation by the elder females. This is reflected in the hormonal rhythms of the female orca. Menopause is a phenomenon seen in only humans, pilot whales and orcas. Orca seems to embody a female wisdom, a cultural continuity and undisrupted connection between generations a wisdom that goes beyond fertility and reproduction. Within the framework of natural science it would be called an evolutionary advantage, but when we allow the Spirit of Orca to be heard, this becomes a teaching on the planetary archetype of the Moon.
Orca seems to preach connection. The closeness within the family and the contact through sound is constant, always exchanging vocalizations back and forth, always tuned in to each other. There is a care for each other and a learning process between generations, as they act in accordance with deep-seated traditions and a sense of community. Conflict is rare among orcas. The connection seems far more important. But the image that Orca conveys is not merely that of connection. It is the ancient and mystical ways of Soul connection held at the Heart center. Orca moves within the water element, in constant contact with the flow of Spirit, in a soundscape where the song of the Heart is felt and the memories of the Soul never forgotten. Within its watery world Orca reminds of the greater Heart field where the Soul has its home.
The Playlists
The meeting between the culture of orcas and the (anti)culture of humans has in many ways become a momentum of grief. Orcas have been badly affected by prey depletion, habitat loss and pollution caused by human activities sprung from a disconnected form of culture. The situation in itself is a reflection of how disconnected to Soul that human civilization is at this point. And the abduction of orcas from their natural home in the ocean, confining them to small tanks for entertainment is the sad externalized image of Soul loss.
When arranging playlists on Spotify a theme of Uranus-Black Moon-Sedna/Chiron came about as a vague reflection of these circumstances. Uranus seems to sing of setting free the wild nature of the Black Moon while Sedna sings of both Soul loss and Soul retrieval. The playlist offers a few different facets of this planetary combination.
Uranus-Black Moon-Sedna/Chiron
Another playlist vaguely related to the spirit of Orca is the one with a Lunar Nodes-Black Moon theme. This planetary combination seems to bring forth the image of Soul connection.
The astrological marker for the image of the orca are the Lunar Nodes and the Lunar Apogee also referred to as Black Moon. This is the empirical and intuitive conclusion made from the astrological study of the imagery within song lyrics, poetry and other artistic expressions. The keywords for Lunar Nodes and Black Moon can be found in the Astro Key.
